The clients who come to Heights Boudoir for a boudoir session have many tales to tell in their preparation for their boudoir sessions with me. However, I wanted to share with you something about myself…I snack, a lot. I don’t jump out of bed eating, but once I get started, I really do not stop until I go to bed at night. Therefore, I think it is time for me to advise you on nutrition before a boudoir session.

I have noticed that clients who come, rarely partake if I put out a snack. In fact, I stopped wasting it, because you know who ate it? Me…and don’t ask me what happens to the champagne you don’t drink!

Here are some of my tips on nutrition before a boudoir session to make sure you have the energy you are going to need for a boudoir session.

Eat a small meal or snack before your boudoir photography session

Have you thought about your nutrition before a boudoir session? A few carbs will come in handy and a little protein with it because we do sometimes go on for an hour or two. Notably, if you have a bit of energy on board, you will be able to focus better, hold a pose, and not have a growling monster in the pit of your tummy.

Don’t forget the macros for nutrition before a boudoir session

When considering your nutrition before a boudoir session, don’t forget your macros. Having a little protein with a bit of healthy fat will give you the energy to barrel through.  That could mean an egg with your breakfast toast before the session. Then, if your session is hours later, put a little peanut butter on your banana or yogurt on top of your berries. You know the drill…I see you at the gym getting all pumped up! Feel free to bring your snack or protein drink for nutrition before a boudoir session

If you are a bit nervous prior to your boudoir session, go ahead and pack your snack.  Believe me, ten minutes after you get here, you will settle in. You are among friends. Therefore, consider your nutrition before a boudoir session and plan accordingly!

Do Hydrate

Please drink water! We all need it! You will have your own restroom here, so do not worry about not being able to have the facility nearby. Therefore, indulge! Your water intake will prevent bloating and give you that dewy look to your skin. Therefore, not just the nutrition before a boudoir session but also consider your hydration!

Watch Your Salt Intake

Salty foods can cause water retention. Therefore, watch the intake of french fries the night before your boudoir session. I like to think nutrition before a boudoir session is like nutrition every day, but some foods will have a direct impact. However, if you do reach for a salty something-something, wash it down with extra water, not beer!

Please Do Not Diet

You will not lose weight a week before your session! Your nutrition before a boudoir session is paramount! No glassy looking, half starved eyes! While I call a boudoir session fun, it is fun like a spin class (well, not exactly!) But it can be tiring. Women will want to fit in an extra lingerie outfit here and there, but when we get to the end of the session, they are tired! Crash diets will drain you fast!
