What to Expect?

Expect to have the time of your life!  Once you have arrived for your photo shoot at Heights Boudoir, you will walk in the studio and notice that you are in a safe place.  You are among friends, and we want you to have an experience that you will remember fondly for years to come!  Check this out this Guide to Preparing for more information on getting ready for a boudoir session.

Expect to Relax at Your Boudoir Shoot

You will put down your shopping bag, tote, or suitcase!  We will go through the outfits that you have selected. Together we will determine which will provide the best photographs.  We will pair your outfits with available sets.  Simultaneously, you will start the transformation process with the stylist if you have elected this service.  In addition, we will also help with any wardrobe question you may have, including selecting any accessories you may have in mind.

Once you are all settled in, sipping on a mimosa, we will get down to preparing your story board.  The story board will provide us with a roadmap for the session.  We will plan on three to four changes in sets and outfits.  There may be some overlapping, we will let the outfit selection guide us.  There is a private dressing area, so once you have been settled in with outfits, you will be assured of privacy as you put on your first outfit.  We have thought of everything to make sure you are 100% comfortable.

You will be reminded that it is not your job to be worrying about posing or facial expressions at all!  That’s my job!

Expect Fun at your Boudoir Shoot

We will start off with the simplest pose and coach you on exactly where to look, how to smile, etc.  You will never wonder “where should my hand be, does my face look good, or am I doing this right?”

Have you ever had a photo shoot or even had a friend take your photo and you are unsure how to  pose to look your best?  Well, you are in great hands with Jan!   She knows exactly what poses look best on which body types and you will be amazed by the results.

I will be as clear on posing and will spend a good deal showing you what I am looking for.  From there, we will move into small changes to get a variety of images and find the one that works best for your body and your style!

Once you have gone through all the outfits and different sets we want to shoot with, it will be time for you to change and return to your normal life!  Half of the clients leave the studio, declaring, “I’m all made up, he’s taking me out tonight!”  The other half, “Do you have something I can take this makeup off with?”  Either to keep it a secret, or they just want it off!

Expect an Afterglow from your Boudoir Shoot

Before you leave, we will schedule a reveal meeting, probably 3-5 days in the future, mostly depending on your schedule.  You actually have 21 days to come in, so if you are planning on traveling right after your shoot, no worries there!

Summary

Your session will last about 2 hours for the photography.  With makeup, expect it to take closer to 3-4 hours.  The time will fly by!  Sometimes its nice to have a little break, we don’t mind that at all!  We know its hard work being sexy!   While all this hard work is going on around you, we will be cutting up, joking, getting to know each other…just having a wonderful time!  You are going to love it!  Here’s another blog on Boudoir Advice You Should Listen To!
