Houston Boudoir Studio Offers Retro Boudoir Session with Coca Cola Curlers!

Sil the beautiful recently contacted me regarding a stylized boudoir session.  Although this Houston Boudoir Studio Photographer certainly offers a Retro Boudoir Session, I had never photographed a woman in Coca Cola Curlers, Sil was certain we could rock this retro boudoir session!

Stylized Session – Retro Boudoir Session

Please remember, Sil is a stylist!  Therefore, any idea she has is usually an awesome one!  When she suggested this stylized Retro Boudoir Session, I immediately scoured the internet for design ideas.  However, the images I saw I knew did not reflect my style or tell the story the way I would tell it!

It is important to remember, I have photographed Sil in numerous contexts.  Bathing suits, Pin Up, Christmas, Boudoir – you name it!  Not only is Sil a wonderful model with lots of great ideas, she also provides make up artistry to many of my clients who desire this service.  As a model, she understands what works well in photography.  Therefore, it was easy for me to trust Sil as she stylized her Retro Boudoir Session with Coca Cola Curlers.

Coca Cola Curlers for the Retro Boudoir Session was pure Sil!  Notably, Sil is very blonde and her hair popped off that bright red of the Coca Cola curlers.  Problematic for both of us, neither one of us drinks pop!  Well suited to each other in the boudoir studio as we both are tea lovers!  However, Sil sacrificed the necessary twelve pack to get the look!  Therefore,  small sacrifice from the grocery store to enable the Retro Boudoir Session!

Accessories

A retro phone was included in the shoot – and Sil was very fortunate to find the red phone!  Notably, I believe her boss lent it to her.  However, I am currently watching eBay to acquire this awesome accessory.  The telephone gave the images quite a bit of pop!  I think I would also like to get one that’s a bit curvier!

Other accessories we included in our Retro Boudoir Session was a camera.  Although not an old one, my travel Sony has a retro vibe and I was not unhappy with the way the images came out with the camera!.  In addition, Sil and I utilized ladies magazines that have found a home in my boudoir studio.  Notably, we turned the magazines to pages that contained a prominent amount of red to give these accessories some pop.  However, nothing compared to the bright red of Sil’s lipstick!

Looks

The looks we selected for the Retro Boudoir Session included a hot pink lingerie number with socks for something fun and edgy.  The fun of the hot pink and red together, but the edginess of the attitude I believe gives the images a bit of conflict.  Boudoir, even a Retro Boudoir Session, should be a bit naughty at its core! 

The next look was a more traditional look with a white button up.  I loved these images!  In fact, I loved the black and white equally to the colored.  The splashes of red just gave the images a boldness, but the black and whites really gave a moodiness to the images.  However, please note…no lungs were injured inn the making of this Retro Boudoir Session.  The cigarette is totally fake!  Sil is a very health conscious woman!  

Naturally, a pair of fluffy panties to infuse a bit of fun and the unexpected!  And who could resist the fur coat and nail file!  Ooh La La – Sil is one hot model!

A little bit about me, I am a retired hospice nurse.  I am well into my 50s – and 58 is fast approaching!   My hubby is Tim the Tool Man Watson.  We love steak night on Tuesdays (we have spent the last few at the Hay Merchant).  We also love our standing date night which is Friday!  However, as much as I like eating out, keto keeps me cooking plenty of meals at home!  Notably, my recent experiences with a certain Cardiologist does have me swapping out Saturated fats for Monos – so a few extra egg whites and a few less yolks!  

 

About The Studio Heights Boudoir

Things around my little purple bungalow change a lot!  While things may not always get picked up in a hurry around here, by gosh they get fixed, refined, remodeled, remolded, and man the trouble we have gotten into with repainting! Yup, the studio is in an old Heights Bungalow and we have been rehabbing this baby for 7 or 8 years now! The new carport still has a bit of work, but it does keep my car dry!  However, sometimes we had so much fun rehabbing things, we tore it down so we could do it again.  Notably, even at our ages, we still make lots of mistakes.
